  • @CRSmith215 Get the latest Media Composer Student Edition. It should be around $300.00 but you need a powerhouse computer to push it. Look at the computer specs first. Mojo and Adrenaline are very good to start with. Once you buy it, you get free upgrades for 4 yrs. You need to get used to using pro editing software if you are using pro equipment. Does make sense, don't it? Avid is a beast now, it is no joke but when get it you thank me for it!!!!

  • @djkaneck1 -Ok, great. I can't watit to to buy it. Now I'm on the site, which is the highest-end Avid video-editing program I should get? There's so many.

  • @djkaneck1 -Thanks, wow and all this time I thought Final Cut was the top editing program. I've been teaching myself and editing video since I was 8, starting with just $300 Quasar Camcorder and VCR, then at 12, I got DVD Recorder, 14, I got my first computer and used Roxio Easy Media Creator which was good but painfully bugged and slow. I'm 18 and use Final Cut now, and I would love to use the highest video editing software available. Please Tell me, which is the best Avid program should I buy?

  • @CRSmith215 Avid is what the pro's use. Avid invented timeline editing in the early 80's. Final Cut Studio paid top editors to endorse it but when you take Editors certification exam, AVID is KING my brother. If you want job in the industry as an editor, learn AVID first. I'll be looking into the MC2000u for a backup, thanks man.

  • @djkaneck1 -Yeah I love it! I had it for 6 months now. It works great with Adobe Final Cut. HDMI looks great just like the FX7 but the MC2000 imports to USB so its convient. I was just dissapointed that Sony tries to keep this great camera a secret; its not even on the site. I found it by googling "Sony Professional Cameras" But I heard Avid was a great program too. One thing good about Avid is that it works on both Mac and PC alike. Just haven't used it yet.

  • @CRSmith215 Yelp that explains it. I have 2 iMACs and edit with Adobe Master Collection and import it with a firewire 800 cord, works perfectly. Final Cut is too damn finicky even though I'm certified in it. Overall I prefer Avid Media Composer I'm certified in that as well. Yeah, you used a used and abused camera. Sorry man, I but never thought of the HXR MC2000u. Is it that good?

  • @djkaneck1 @djkaneck1 -Yeah I had the settings on 1080i, but blue screen, I put the same tapes in a Sony HD FX 1 and it worked great, only thing though it was my schools camera. I have an iMac, but neither camera imported the videos to firewire. The Nex VG20 is a good model. I just didn't buy it because it was more money, 10x Zoom and didn't have auto zoom. The Sony HXR MC2000U is a professional model imports quickly through USB. Either way, I think Sony is the way to go!

  • @CRSmith215 Hey did you try setting the i-link settings to auto 1080/480i? The camera does some have drawback like still at 1.5 megabytes to memory pro, no xlr inputs or video inputs...come on! I still have my FX-7. I'm working on getting the Nex VG20 and FS100. I like the Sony A33 SLT. For $400.00 brand new, it's a little better than my Nikon 3100 but not as good as my Canon 60D. Anyway good shooting and hope to see ya in the field. Peace.

  • Last year, I had the Sony HDR-XR200V and I loved it's quality. But since I film weddings and receptions, I wanted something bigger more professional, So I bought the Sony HDR-FX7 and it did not turn out like this. Lol, I didn't realize I was stepping 5 years back by using DV tape. The SD card only stores pictures. I like tapeless HD cameras.

-But I'm so happy you can achieve high quality like this from just tapes, becuase I sure couldn't make my DV tape videos look like this.

  • @djkaneck1 -Yeah thanks. Actually, I don't even have that camera anymore. I re-sold it 3 weeks later. Didn't like it. I used those tapes you said before you told me. The black basic tapes only worked. but When I used the good Sony White HD tapes it wouldn't play back the video! it played once but when I replay the tape it plays a blue screen. Good thing it was a test record. Lost all my data. I thought this camera recorded videos to SD cards, not just tapes. I'm now using the Sony HXR MC2000.
