Hello wolf people :) - this is my third video now for a short series I'm doing documenting my hybrid cub's growth and I'm also answering question regarding training, animal psychology, etc.
My cub "Gambit" is now 22 weeks old and is already almos the size of our larger German Shepard who is actually the largest German Shepard I've seen, and I've seen a lot! He's a big, beautiful, and healthy dog.
Wolf-dogs are a different breed and that must be kept in mind. I urge you to take the time to research the animal before even considering owning one. There's a great book that I read called "Wolfdogs A - Z!" and it's a perfect place to start. Remember that they're not entirely like your other dogs while at the same time they're by no means the little monsters a lot of people have made them out to be.
Wolfdogs train VERY well, they can be house-broken, heel, leash trained, etc. They're one of the most intelligent of all the canines - normally operating in a hierarchy with other animals and even your house hold. But don't worry, you're always gonna be the alpha and you're always gonna be the center of their world.Personally, I prefer them over dogs.
Remember to give your animals their parvo shots and heartworm medication!!!!!!!!!!!!
take care :)
IMPORTANT: IF you're interested in owning a wolfdog may I please suggest that you read this book? You can get it used for practically a few $'s and it's just a great introduction on wolfdogs, how to raise them, train them, and of course, their behavior!

Are they harder to handle than a " regular " pure breed dog? do u have to have a special liscense to own one of these dogs? Are they good with cats and other animals?
I want to do a couple more of these and would like to answer some more questions that I might have not answered already in my previous 3 or 4 videos on wolves.
But on a serious note, we are moving abroad (Turkey) and we bought a set of fields there and currently constructing a villa there. Personaly I would not know what to ask, my older brother wants these more then I do so I'll give him a ring to see what he may want to know.
Personally I would like to know how they will adopt to no other animal contact what so ever. It will be around 80km's away from the city.
I was browsing YouTube and thought of a few questions myself.
Do wolf dogs howl when the moon comes out like normal wolves do? I heard they howl when a full moon is out because they can see/communicate amongst one another or to other wolves because they can see each other better.
Do they own/make there own territories? If so, how well will they respond to other animals wondering in? We will be moving to a set of very large fields that we purchased, and they will mostly be isolated.
I have 2 wolves, a husky wolf, male, and his name is Lucian and a German shepherd wolf, female, Juno. But my question was, he should be about 2 weeks younger than Gambit and he's not close to as big, and my female isn't very big either. i wanted to know if maybe its normal for them to smaller sometimes, he eats regular dog food, and i had a couple other questions... if you could contact me, it would help, just hit me up on myspace look for Clarissa hites in oklahoma or Cassifer.. thanks
They're not as large as one would expect, they're about the size of an average German Shepard or Husky - maybe even a little smaller.
my wolf, Gambit, his papa was a freakishly large hybrid! I am actually surprised Gambit isn't larger. His dad just towered over the other wolves. One time he got out and killed, bringing down a small cow! He was almost put shot and put down but a friend was able to convince the owner not to kill the wolf. He probably paid him for his loss product, not pet.
i had a wolfdog that wasnt bottle fed starting at 10 days old like the idiot breeder was supposed to.with me my mom and niece who was only 5 or 6 he acted just like a dog but he hid from everyone else.i had to give mine back to the breeder because some 1 was trying to kill him and they actualy killed my moms beagle by throwing poison in our yard
