Moon was spectacular. The Edmonton teams then were unstoppable. I miss those days (and I'm not an Eskimos fan, either).

The CFL is good for football..because its a good alternative to NFL..plus you can have redemption there and make the best out of it..they have history in the CFL..the second oldest trophy in north america(grey cup) and there has been some GREAT players in the league..the only reason people dog it is because they dont really know it..but alot of people DONT know that the CFL rules were the ORIGINAL football rules. i repect this league. you should too.

In fairness, there have been quite a few ex-NFL players that became highly successful in the CFL. Some of those players had very short stints in the NFL (some were practice squad players, or 3rd or 4th stringers, or guys got cut in pre season) so we don't know much about their NFL stints, especially a lot of the players from the 50's 60's and 70's that went up to Canada.

@darthrevan6 That is not to mention the differences between the CFL and NFL games. Other than Joe Theismann and Rocket Ismael, name one NFL star that came up to Canada and succeeded.
The game was far better suited to Warren Moon or Doug Flutie and in the CFL we haven't used the tight end system since Tony Gabriel retired. (Another guy who would have had a solid NFL career if they paid as well as he was making in Ottawa for tight ends in his time.) Hense undersized receivers don't make the NFL.

@darthrevan6 It all came down to money, a good lineman would make more money to start in the CFL than they would on an NFL roster most times. Ditto for Quarterbacks who would make less than a steel worker to sit on the bench but make 6 figures to start in the CFL. It wasn't until the USFL that the salaries in the NFL were too high for CFL teams to counter anymore.
