A world without love (Peter and Gordon, piano vocal cover)

Although credited as a Lennon/McCartney composition, this song was very likely a Paul McCartney song. It is speculated that Peter Asher contributed the bridge ("So I wait...") but this would surprise me as the chord choice here involves an unusual key change which is typical of McCartney's songwriting.

Peter and Gordon are Peter Asher and Gordon Waller. Peter is brother to Jane Asher whom McCartney dated around the time this song was written. He went on to manage the likes of Linda Rondstadt and James Taylor.

More recently, this song was covered by Vonda Shepard (in the programme Ally McBeal).

I could type out the chords for you (mostly just major and minor chords). Would that be a help? Without going back and recording this again I couldn't tell you exactly what I'm playing, but I'm largely playing broken chords...
