Yeah there are couple more other questions? I know i'm going to get my EMT certificate. But what is the firefighter 1 certilficate? Does that tell them you have little training for firefighting?

How do you get into the fire academy?

Contact your cities human resources/personel Dept. and they will tell you when they are test for the position. Find out if there are any requirements to apply like having your EMT certificate or firefighter 1 certificate. Both of these are great to have when you apply and also a requirement with most departments. You can get both at your local junior college... let me know if I can help in any other way. marc
