We hope you enjoy this video taken at the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, FL. We had a chance to support our Palm Beach, FL dealer Serious Autosport as they ran their R900 GTR on the runway as witnessed by the International Mile Racing Association. The weather was easily 100F with almost 100% humidity, not the best conditions for a mile run, however the R900 prevailed and set an IMRA mile record for the GTR at 200.709mph, and it did it numerous times in those grueling conditions on back to back runs.

We would like to thank Jeff Hoover, his crew at Serious Autosport, IMRA, Performance Power Racing, Rum Bum Film & HD Studios for this great video, and NASA for the opportunity to gather this all important data on this vehicle.

  • The R900 means 900hp on race fuel, right? How much hp on pump gas?

  • @DaviCupra 800HP

  • @SwitzerPerf now the record is 216.9mph with ams 1365awhp was it??..and in yours it has 700-800awhp rigt?? so ONLY 16mph with 500-600awhp... yes i know it`s about gearing, but what i was wondering is it possible to gear a gtr for more top end and less acceleration??? i just can`t understand why they should not!!! don`t get me wrong doh i love acceleration against seconds.. but in the USA they seem to chase MPH rather then seconds.. so is it possible to re-gear?? or is the trans. to high tech..

  • @rottepung666 That record seems correct for the Texas Mile, however the above video reflects the current record of the International Mile Racing Association. This GTR was tuned to 820AWHP, however the heat and humidity likely robbed us of power that day. If you have enough torque to pull the gearing, theoretically we could run 270+ with the right tires, gearing, and engine RPM. Thanks for the question!

  • @SwitzerPerf thanks for the answer=)) so your saying the problem with GTR`s is the torque?? i know you need torque to pull @ top end.. but if spent some money in them gearing wise, is it then possible to gear them for higher top speed??

  • @rottepung666 It is possible to gear it for higher top speed, however you will need a lot more power to make it work properly.
