On September 15th, PlayStation users found a little update that informed users about a new location where their funds would be stored, and it also explained that users would be required to sign a new terms of use agreement explaining that Sony is blocking people from carrying out class action lawsuits against the them. reelection next year. And lastly, Alyona responds to a viewer who had something to say about her interview with Ana Kasparian of The Young Turks from last week.
Apple and MS ( and many others) had this stuff long before Sony
yet media's going bullshit
And even with that "agreement" it doesn't automatically say you have no right to EVER sue sony...

@smithy2306 Actually, I'm not butthurt, the truth I'm talking about is your ignorance to the situation. You are completely taking me out of context. I know your type, you can't admit being wrong. Whatever the evidence is, you cast it aside and close off. You blame others for your ignorance and instead get hostile when called out on it. I'm merely stating legal data and the truth of the issues. You can't handle it and so you attack me. Here's a suggestion. Grow the fuck up.

@Sasukelegend5 Oh for fuck sake, yes Im so upset about a terms and condtions that I couldn't give a rats arse about that I am about to cry!! It seems to me your the one who is butt hurt about this. Heres an idea: since you can still sue on your own, how about you do that to make you feel better? And yeah sure Sony went to pirate software and therefore make no money off it, you complete and utter spastic. Im done talking to you now because your that butthurt you cant see the logic. Peace

@smithy2306 Are you upset because you can't handle the truth? The fact is, that they are messing with the users. They are infringing upon rights, and they only can get away with it in the US BECAUSE they've bought the damned politicians. But the fact remains is that what they did IS illegal. Both Sony AND the hackers who went to pirate software. Now then, it's not a choice. Basically they're holding online functionality HOSTAGE unless you agree to THEIR TERMS! Which are unreasonable and illegal.

@Sasukelegend5 Go fuck yourself calling me ignorant. YOU had the choice to update the firmware so if I wanted to use the other OS to do some heavy processing with the cells or some other things like that I would have bought a 2nd PS3 to game with if it was so important to me. Fact is these dickhead assholes started to exploit the system through the OS option to use pirate software. You know how hard devs work on these games? They shouldn't have their work effectively stolen.
smithy2306 4 months ago
@smithy2306 It must be bliss to be ignorant. Think of it this way. Some games you have to update to even play. Functionality is lost not being allowed to connect. AND you have to upgrade to access the network! There are no ifs ands or buts about it! Btw, they didn't hack psn. That's a cover story. There were people exploiting custom firmware to access the dev console and steal games. That's why it was shut down for a time. And it's only America who had to agree to this! So stfu

@Sasukelegend5 Funny that its only Americans who kick up a stink about it. Nothing that is online is truly secure, thats a fact and if you are good enough, which these hackers were, then you could hack anything. Its just unfortunate that it was something as big as the PSN. If you wanted to keep the ability for another OS on your PS3 then all you had to do was not upgrade the firmware. If having another OS could be exploited by idiots to pirate games then blame them for the removal, not Sony.

@smithy2306 If they actually DO do something illegal and it messes with us, or our identities are compromised because they weren't secure enough, it's fine to sue. And I REALLY don't like the way you said that. You are acting like it's ALL Americans, in which case, IT'S NOT. Also, when it's give up your rights or don't use a product they promised you in the first place, that IS unreasonable, and thus the T&C are illegal and therefor non-binding
Sasukelegend5 4 months ago
@Sasukelegend5 Well it clearly doesn't protect customers going by this condition from Sony lol I dont really care to be honest. Your still free to sue them yourself, just not a class action lawsuit. You Americans would sue for anything!
smithy2306 4 months ago
@smithy2306 But to force them to do this to access online play is insane. Writing that you don't agree isn't fair. Some don't even HAVE post offices anymore! Not with this economy. Oh and you should read this.
The Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts Regulations 1999 (UTCCRs) protect consumers against unfair standard terms in contracts they make with traders. The Office of Fair Trading, together with certain other bodies, can take legal action to prevent the use of such terms.
