Hi. I love watching nail art tutorials and I love painting my nails. I wanted to make a video, well more like a slideshow, of my own nail art. Continue reading in the description so I can explain what I did or where I got the idea from.

Picture 1: painted nail pink and used a dark purple striper to make crisscross lines and then used a silver striper to line over a couple of the purple lines.

Picture 2: painted nail yellow and then used silver and black stripers alternating stripes to get more of a basket weaving effect instead of just one color always on top of the other color.

Picture3: painted nail a very light pink and used a bobby pin to dab on the "cherries" and the green leaf. I used either a thin toothpick or the pointy end of a thumb tack to draw the tiny dots and the stems.

Picture4: painted nail red and used a toothpick to draw on the flowers and the black dots.

Picture5: LOL! This is not blood. This was from an accident in the microbiology lab. 10 points to the person who knows what stain this is.

Picture6: painted nails white and let them dry completely. Put scotch tape over half the nail diagonally and painted the rest of the nail black. Use a toothpick or the pointy end of a thumb tack to dab on three white dots on the black side and three black dots on the white side.

Picture7: painted nail red and using a stencil I painted this design white and put a little jewel on the opposite corner of my thumb. I really didn't like this stencil, it fell apart after the 2nd nail. I managed to get it to work so I could paint the remaining nails.

Picture8: My Christmas/Holiday themed nails. Painted nail a shiny white and let dry. I used a makeup sponge dipped in green to dab on some color to create a gradient effect with the tip of the nail being the darkest/most opaque green. I then used the shiny white polish and a toothpick to draw on tiny dots along the tip of the nail and then I drew a little snowflake on my thumbs.

Picture9: Painted nails white and then using a toothpick (I didn't have stripers) to draw on the red and green lines.

Picture10: Painted my nails black and my sister's nails pink and then used a bobby pin to dab on white dots (for my nails) and yellow dots (for my sister's nails). I know the color combination on my sister's nails are kind of ugly. Those were the only nail polish colors she had at her house.

Picture11: Newspaper nails. I got this idea from cutepolish and followed her instructions. I didn't have grey polish but I used white polish and let it dry. I then dipped my nail in rubbing alcohol and put a newspaper clipping over the nail. It reminded me a lot of applying a temporary tattoo. Gently remove the newspaper and apply a top coat. Be careful when doing this, I got newspaper ink on my fingers from pushing down on the paper. You can try to wear gloves or just use nail polish removed to wipe away the newspaper ink from your skin.
