Ah, the characteristic debates that ensue! Now comes the question of Derrida's individual ontology, and how it was "disrupted" or "destabilized" by the "aberrant" aural qualities of the narrator, and the "incompatible" visual qualities of an "unconditionally placed" video.

I don't know your background in the subject (I'm new to it), but it seems to me to reflect a lot of the underlying model in General Semantics & Korzybski's, 'the map is not the territory' & McLuhan's 'the message is in the receiver'. It seems in keeping with current Complexity science & holistic multi-agent system models. Like I say, I'm new to much of this, but it's fascinating stuff! :D

that was a really gracious and nice reply to me, basically taking the piss out of something I can't understand! I think i get that he means that language is limited as a form of communication but we use so much more than just the words and their inflection etc etc. I took it to mean also, that one person's interpretation of another's communication is never going to be the exactly the same, because we all interpret according to our own experience. :-)

Is it a philosophy, though? I think it's a way of saying, "look, understand that language is created. Words are created. Language is anthropomorphic. So don't get too attached to meaning and "truth" you find in language, because it's like finding 'the truth' in a chess game." The best language can do is a generalized, reductive explanation of natural phenomenon filtered for human brains.

Of course, that's my interpretation of one piece of deconstructionism. It's also good for trolling. :3

He trolled her hard and she got pissed off... Not realizing he was actually explaining deconstructionism by trolling her. :3

So to summarise.....basically no knows what the fuck anyone means because according to this philospophy everyone's interpretation is so far up its own arse that one will never truly understand the thoughts of another. phew.

Can I please hear Derrida speak instead of you lady, with your drama voice and mysterious background music?

meaning I can't come to any true conclusion from his words, it's like an unfinished poem you can't tell where it's going to head unless you know the poet but even then you have low odds of being exact with the conclusion.

And I just feel he is much like the book of emptiness from Miyamoto Musashi in accepting "the way of no way" as one of the philosophies

he seemed to make a point to say we deprogram ourselves from judging things that we've learned to do from education and experience. I'm assuming he was saying that we take ourselves away from that moment to look at things as surface appearance rather see the entirety in matters.

Being indifferent and leaving an open mind to things drawing no conclusiveness until absolute certainty? "know what is right and true" is what I've extracted to an extent i feel it's rather unfinished and unexamined

I am not fond of this "citation idolatry" that has reduced humanities departments to the level of madrassas. If you are in good faith, you will easily spot that quote in any translation of "The Gay Science."

You see, humility isn't shown by idolizing textbook figures or religiously reciting their words. Modesty is not about rabidly insulting others online (we call that trolling).

Désolé, mon frère, you didn't school me, indeed you displayed the moral and intellectual stature of a schoolboy.
