90 second video taken from CCTV footage (no audio). In January 2011, ULTra PRT undertook a London Heathrow personal rapid transit system capacity trial. Our target was to complete 160 vehicle journeys in one hour. This involved 18 people continuously traveling back and forth, selecting journeys. Upon arrival at their destination, travelers exited the vehicle before selecting a return journey at the station's Destination Selection Panel. We exceeded our target -- completing a total of 164 vehicle journeys between the car park stations and Terminal 5 using a fleet of 18 vehicles. This would be the equivalent of moving 656 passengers an hour on the 1.9km journey each way, assuming occupancy of four people in each vehicle. All systems performed well and no issues were reported. @SparkyC50 I think its supposed to help people navigate their ways to the gates, as heathrow is the main airport in england and its huge! I actually think it was a good idea, check out ITN's coverage, they have inside views.

People in airports often have kids, cases, buggies. How does it work then? Any views from inside the vehicle?

your goal of 160 trips in 1 hour with 18 "pods" could have been worked out with a bit of simple math. Come to think of it, you probably did the math first, then said, "hey, this is our goal!"

i see big pauses between somme pods! does this mean that with more pods available you could make more trips? are you using the most pods possible for the amaunt of guideway?
