UNLESS YOU HAVE HAD CHEESESTEAKS FROM ALL OVER THE CITY AND I MEAN EVERY NEIGHBORHOOD WHICH MOST PEOPLE ARE NOT WILLING TO DO THEN YOU CANNOT ACCURATELY COME TO A CONCLUSION OF WHO IS THE BEST.....I HAVE DONE THIS AND I WILL TELL YOU PATS AND GENOS ARE FAR FROM BEING THE BEST.

I hear all this talk about how people wait and wait in line for a cheese steak and it's average, well let's be honest it's a cheese steak not a 5 course meal, all these suburban kids make Pat's&Geno's like a night club on a Saturday night, I'm born & raised in south Philly, I live 2 blocks away from Pat's & Geno's. Pat's is the best hands down, Geno's is one slap of meat on a over sized roll with just grease on it, Pat's fills it up, onions are just right and the whiz is melted perfect,good roll

Worse cheesesteak I ever had. Just drove up from Maryland had to try one. They wouldn't put hots on it

pats was first. not genos. they are exactly the same damn sandwhich except the meat at genos isnt chopped. same bread, meat an cheese. SAME

@eagles01211 I go to Chinks because I live in Tacony. I am very happy with theirs. They have good milkshakes to.

@Kyles45Angel only problem with tony lukes is the menu...sure they have a varied menu but they cant prepare food ahead of time...with pats and genos its nonstop cheesesteaks.....waited 45 min in line at tony lukes for an average cheesesteak

Hi Kevin! My friend and I were over from California in October of 2010 and were parked just 2 spots back from where you guys did! We both went to Pat's and love it man, LOVED IT! Thanks for sharing your family's adventure!

good choice. genos is nasty. Next time you visit go to cosmi's on 8, its just a few blocks south of pats.

Genos and Pats aren't the best in Phila. They are tourist spots. Most people from Phila go to Tony Lukes or Chinks..
