@disconnect4 Hahaha, my aunt was a hairdresser and I remember she had a Nagel print in her salon in the 90s. Good times.

I feel so nostalgic and I love with a time that I never knew

Where have all the Nagels gone?
I worked at a frame shop in Long Beach during the 80's, when Nagel prints became the Beanie Babies of the (temporarily) moneyed cokehead elite.
They would line up for each new print, which would then bounce to astronomical heights in cost.
We framed them in black enamel with elaborate mat cut-outs using archival methods, all of which could add a thousand or so to the cost.
Then POOF! Gone.
I'm not knocking Nagel.
But it's too bad he couldn't get his share.

Yes I have the large acrylic on canvas of the Blue Bikini Girl, undoing the right strap ,loosely, on her suit...go to Pat Nagel's site and you will view the image...let me know if serious ,as I am practically giving it away , due to the economy.
All best,
K

@alex6847 Yes, I understand that there is disgusting music out there too, and I've heard small children singing "Kesha" songs, it's disturbing... To be perfectly honest, I really couldn't give a shit what you've got to say to me, about anything. The fact of the matter is that I find these pictures revolting, and I am allowed to voice my opinions. That's the beauty of freedom of speech. ;) Whether you agree with me is neither here nor there, I couldn't care less, quite frankly...

@mysteryloser24 And yeah you obviously are sexually repressed if you find Nagel's work so terrible and offending. There are no women being raped in any of these paintings, no one being hurt or abused in any way. If there were, THAT would be perverted. I just think it's bizarre that in your crusade against sexuality the person you take issue with is Nagel. Did you draw his name from a hat or something? It all just seems very weird and random to me.
-
@mysteryloser24 Oh yes I do so agree, I hate hearing all those awful stories about parents forcing their children to look at these horribly graphic and overtly sexual Patrick Nagel paintings! Get real you cunt.
If you want to get on a soapbox about children being exposed to sexuality, there are songs on the radio full of sexual innuendo and music videos where girls are wearing next to nothing, and they're far more readily available to children than these paintings.

@alex6847 I don't really care what the pervert would think about my opinion to be perfectly honest, nor do I care what you think. Sexually repressed? Get over yourself, you moron... Just because I find naked paintings offensive you have to have a go at me directly? The fact of the matter is that these paintings are publicly available to anyone at all to see, which means children too. So, there's something wrong with me for not wanting children to have to be subjected to this perversion?
he inspired me to paint in acrylic. so lovely and flat. shame about the bastardization of his art in every hair salon window and dry cleaner. nagel is a guilty pleasure. tacky yet beautifully executed and original.

Wow! His artwork is just great. It's a real tragedy he died so early on. He is truly an icon of 80's art.
