As they were nearing their houses, Kat was doing some thinking."I don't know where I wanna go. Some thing tells me I should stay at the Jonases for the night, but I don't wanna leave Alli at home either.." she leaned her head against the window and curled her legs up to her chest.
Joe and Alli both took notice of her change in position and realized how she felt. Alli looked at Joe and he understood immediately what she meant and made a slight nod of the head.
Alli let out an almost silent cough, clearing her throat. "Joe, take a left here," she felt weird talking after that long silence, "then just drop me off at that second right."
Joe did as he was told and dropped her off. As Alli opened the car door, Kat looked up. Alli smiled at Kat to let her know she was gonna be okay for the night.
Kat mouthed out the words "You sure?" Alli stuck her two thumbs up and nodded. Kat watched as Alli walked steadily to her front porch.
As usual, Alli fumbled with her keys before putting it into the lock, turned around and grinned once more, saluted as a goodbye, stepped into her house and closed the door.
Joe put his arm around Kat and kissed the top of her head.
"Shall I escort you to your house or would you rather spend the night the ol' household Jonas?" he whispered.
Kat looked up and Joe simply smiled and started the car up again.
Joe's POV
I hadn't noticed until we got into the driveway that.. somewhere between the 5 minutes between Alli's house to mine.. Kat had totally crashed (fell asleep, you guys! Not car accident! lol) All I did was laugh a bit and carried her out. By the time we got to the porch, she woke up a little.
"Huh?" she said, rubbing her eyes.
"Did you know that you are just too adorable when you wake up?" I smiled and kissed her forehead.
She kept her eyes closed, smiled and rested her head on my shoulder.
I tried to use one of my hands to unlock the door and just as I was about to put the key in, Nick answered. I noticed his change in appearance. He seemed a bit unkempt. His eyes were barely open and his afro was all messy. All he did was open the door and walked back to sleep on the couch. Surprisingly, he asked no questions.. Then again, he was just as awake as Kat was.
I walked towards the family room where Nick was. He had his guitar out on the floor next to him and a crap load of papers everywhere. I was too tired to ask anything about it. Just then, Kat woke up.
"Joe.." she said quietly.
"Want me to put you down?"
"Don't let go.."
"I never will."
"You promise?"
"Of course. Do you promise too?"
Then she fell back asleep. Great timing. Sighing, I set her down on the couch by Nick and I sat next to her.
Next thing ya know, I was rubbing my eyes and hearing foot tapping noises. I turned my head to find little short stack standing next to the couch with his arms crossed.
"What are you doing up so late, little man?" I asked.
"I'm not the only one up. Mom and Dad are right there. Besides, it's morning" He pointed behind him and being the weird kid he is, robo-walked in the same direction.
I looked up, and just as Frankie said, there they were, standing with their backs to me. I was gonna crap my pants because I thought they were gonna bombard me with questions or not let me see Kat again the way they did with...
-from another room- "KEVIN AND LEAH?!"
Instantly, I jumped off the couch. And if that weren't shocking enough, on my other side was a sight so unbelievable, I could barely breathe.
HMM. How is Alli doing? Is it pure coincidence that Kat didn't reply to Joe? What was so unbelievable to Joseph?
haha, laaame (: sorry i haven't been postin much up, duuudes. that's what high school does. but me and alli are working out a system in which we threaten each other to get each other's story up by a specific date. so far so good. (: also, winter break is a'comin, and that meaaans, well a lotta stuff, but the point i'm trying to get at is the fact that alli & i'll have free time, so hopefully you'll read more from us in the next couple of weeks :D
