If your wondering why this works, its simple:
127.0.0.1 = loopback ip address (google it for more info)
control.adap.tv = advertisement server (go to http://adap.tv for more info)
The hosts file assigns the ad server (adap.tv) a loopback ip address (127.0.0.1)
When your browser tries to load ad's from control.adap.tv the request is never sent to the internet,
but instead loops back to your own computer. In other words your browser is requesting ad's from your own computer. Naturally none exist so nothing is loaded. NO AD's :D
*************************************************
these are the lines to copy and paste:
File name:
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
hosts file entry:
127.0.0.1 control.adap.tv
you can use more than one space to separate (control.adap.tv) from 127.0.0.1
