Religious right is the major force denying real history of killing the indigenous native Americans with Gods' name . We still need Colombo discovering North America.

The idea of MANIFEST DESTINY. A sense of imagined specialness that bestows upon one the right to steal, murder and assume government. What is really amazing is how close "Christ Alone" preachers have no problem with the (despite cries of conspiracy) an obvious mysticality of Masonically led D.C. Along with torture, and with covert operations. This all conveniently tucked under the rubric of "national security". The whore religious right and her syphillitic suitors, militarist politicians.

People of these regions have not always been Dominionists. Most were relieved to be truly relieved of politics. However, government operatives have a deep interest in the rallying power of American Christianity. WWI brought a bond selling, flag rallying, Germany hating religion of "patriotism" to the forefront. With no more frontier left to pillage America joined in to fight the "baby eating Germans". We got to France and realized we were snowed. Then came the Lost Generation. The 1st Hippies.

Dionne is right. If the religious right had the same level of influence, Guliani, Huckabee or Romney would have been the Republican nominee. Instead an experienced Washington politician has won it.

I agree, religion does not belong in politics. And dumb country hicks who think otherwise should leave the U.S. and start their own theocracy.
