in the beginning, it weird to see that the Purple Dragons are now a crime syndicate that steal high-tech weapons instead of street punks that rob people.

TMNT, Series 1 Yugioh, and Pokemon(up until Battle Frontier) are THE best things 4Kids have ever put out, and I don't say that lightly considering all the horrible things they've done to good anime. Funny how I actually prefer their dub of Pokemon and Yugioh(Series 1) over the Japanese audio, despite how corny the English dub may be, but that's besides the point. For this epic movie(which had no reason to get the cut version on TV), I say kudos to you 4Kids. Now stop ruining anime for us all.

You're entirely right. They are more goofy then I remember, but they got their time to shine as well and they certainly are competent. The writers may have exaggerated them a little bit but I understand why they could have done this.
I have to say I really liked their cheery and happy attitude, gave some good laughs throughout the movie. IMHO the OT turtles (and the others as well) were all done justice.

Cut parts
1. Karai asked shredder and krang how they managed to transport utrom shredder and she explains that she noticed he was gone because she constantly moniters him.
2. Krang and 87 shredder are observing the technodrome modifications.Complaining about certain objects being removed.
3. Technodrome Computer recognizing the utron shredder as oroku saki and his history.
4. Turtles in their lair Raph argues with original turtles and splinter tells them all off and welcomes all (turtles).
