what is MSHSL and how old are you?

@FantomOfFear I was 18 years old at the time. And MSHSL = Minnesota State High School League (it's the league that organizes and sponsors solo & ensemble competitions)

@FantomOfFear it's not a competition to get into anything, but simply to perform for that one event and get critiqued by the judge. And I'm actually a senior computer science major at the University of Minnesota. I still play sax a lot, but not for my major. I assume you're a saxophone player?

this song is supse to be longer. i have the full version so when i was following i got totaly lost until i got to the "up and down" ending.  but that was very good. i enjoyed listening, it will be a big help for when i perform!

Yes, I took several cuts. For high school solo/ensemble contest in Minnesota, you're only allowed 10 minutes, and that theoretically includes time for the judge's comments. I'd have liked to do the full thing if I could have! :-D

De toute évidence tu ne connaissais pas du tout ce morceau. Je pense qu'avant de se produire sur une scène ou de se filmer, il faut au moins connaître toutes ses notes non ? Sans parler de l'horriiiible interprétation et de ton son catastrophique. Tu n'es pas prêt pour jouer ce genre de pièce. Je ne suis pas sur que Glazounov ai pu écrire une musique si romantique sans mettre de nuances ou de changements de tempo <_<". En tout c'est vraiment de massacrer un tel classique.

nice job, my only complaint is I am not a fan of your tone quality... not sayin its bad or anything but I just dont like it much...

Definitely liked your rendition of the solo.

One thing though -- your tone was really jazzy back then which, to be honest, didn't really fit the character of the piece.

Well played, I played this solo last year on Sax for my Sophomore year in high school for my Solo contest... Tough solo, IMO Shouldn't have taken certain parts as fast as you did, a lot of blimps and missed notes, even some accidentals at the first steady 8th part on top of page 2. Gotta perfect those parts at a certain tempo and not play them too fast. Very hard solo, good work nice tone :)
