If I wouldn't know the general good quality of MXR and Custom Audio Electronics items I think I'd directly consider that pedal as shit after watching this demo. It sounds absolutely bad. This is no promotion of a product, this is destruction.
Please don't be upset because I don't want to insult you. I've no idea of what was wrong but make better recordings. Why didn't you demo with a clearer clean (fenderish ?) tone too ? I'm sorry if my English isn't that good.

Why aren't overdrives your thing? Boosting an overdriven amp sounds way better than a thin high gain pedal on the clean channel.

Actually, what grates on my ears is NOT his guitar tone, considering he's using a video camera mic, what would one expect? The guys does a great job demoing stuff.
WHAT KILLS MY EARS is that New England/Long Island accent where he ends words ending in "A" with an "R": "Bob Bradshawrr"

@TheFlyers09 I just got one off ebay, and I plan on using it with my 3 Channel 2010 Mesa Dual Rectifier, pushing the clean channel, and the two overdrive channels at varying levels of gain.
If you don't think this style pedal should be used with dirty amps, look up Paul Gilbert's video demo of his "Fuzz Universe" pedal. He pushes a dirty Marshall Vintage Modern with 2 levels of OD Gain.

@lmsjr This guy amazes me... it takes talent to make a 2205 sound this horrible... Maybe turn down some of the reverb and eq the amp so it doesn't sound like the Presence is on 0.

hey tone king! couple of questions for ya!
1-what kind of camera do ya have? i love the audio and picture quality!
2-do you know if eminence legend speakers are good? im thinking of getting a vader 4x12 and vader uses legends. this thing is a steal.. 750 dollars for a 4x12. i heard the legends are good but i wanna check with you because you know what your talking about :)

I use a canon HD cam. Legend V12s are killer. $750 however sounds like a lot of dough for a 4x12. Those legends cost about $50 each, and a cab at mojotone or somewhere else should only run about 300-ish. Hope that helps.
