This is just not right. How can a family make a deal to marry their daughter at this age, and with a 47yr old man!

@peinay ....yes they are definitely fucking insane!!! it's obviously all about money. These parents deserve a thousand cuts death in China.... it's not a culture or belief, it's business!!!! And their products are their own flesh... I just hope that not all parents in that place are like this....

Yes, she was living with her mother after she ran away. She is a brave little girl. She also sounds very intelligent. I will find an interview of her for you. She was or maybe still is staying with her mother after she left the husband. And a woman lawyer was representing her to get her divorce but I guess the judge denied it. Now her husband has the right to get her back. Her father said he can't do anything about it because the husband has rights to her.

Yes, I heard about that on 20/20. An American man who was in the military and is married to a Fililipino had to go to Malaysia to save her niece from being kidnapped by these guys who told them they had jobs for them, but just kept them for prostitution. It is hard to think that people would sell kids like they're toys. It is even worse when your own family member was the one who sold you.

Yes, that happens all the time. There's a Christian Mission group that gives the families goats and helps them make money if they'll promise not to sell their girls into slavery. I forgot which country that's in. They had a Law & Order episode recently where these rich people were caught with Haitian children slaves living in their houses. They were passing them off as adopted children, but they really lived in the basement & did all the household chores. I bet there are many hidden.

In Asia they've been selling little girls into prostitution forever. They used to send shiploads of little girls to San Francisco, & they were kept in little booths & raped all day long. When they got too sick or old to make money for their "owners," they would leave them a bowl of food & a bowl of poison & let them choose whether to live or die. Missionary Donaldina Cameron risked her life & rescued many of them, chopping down doors with an ax.  She ran a boarding school for them.

...reported to the cops that there is a little girl who is not a child of the couple and she cleans and is basically imprisoned in their home. They have 3 kids and she worked almost all day for them. The couple ended up going to prison for a couple of years and deported. The little girl is now 18 and was adopted by this American couple. Her family's reason for giving her to the rich family was that they can't afford to her and they owed them money, so they sent their daughter to pay their debt.

In Saudi, women have no rights at all. They are owned by their husbands and they have to abide by their rules. And as long as she's married to that sick man, he has rights to her in every way. I have read that some of these families arrange for their kids' marriages so they don't have to take care of them. And some even sell them as workers/slaves. A girl from Egypt was sold to this rich Egytian family who had a nice home in California and she worked for them for years until a neighbor...
