Sorry to hear of the terrible trauma you experienced. As for the "witty" comments, keep in mind that there are some quite young kids posting on Youtube whose brains haven't matured... and then there are the perpetual Peter Pans in adult bodies - their pathetic number one rule in life is never take anything seriously.

poodink - I know that humor is a good way to deal with bad things. In fact, before I knew how bad it was, my response was "better call Empire and tell them we don't have any power". And a friend's father was also in Greenbriar. He was talking to his daughter when it came in and the last thing he said on the phone was "please come get me". He survived too, but imagine the fear of hearing that last words from dad. Thanks for your comment.

oh I understand... my entire family lived or lives in Joplin... my uncle was one of the ones trapped in Greenbriar nursing home. He survived, but barely. I have seen the devastation first hand... sometimes humor is a way of coping with loss.

Chip, thanks for the comment. Having been immediately (8 blocks) away from the tornado, even we are a bit leary when the weather gets iffy. There have been an awful lot of "cute" remarks here and they are hurtful and ugly. Thank you for yours.
