Its about the fall of man, and their being banished from the garden of eden. Think about it. No its not about love or the end of civilization or waffles. These eyes are blind, this is a pure thing- ignorance before they ate the fruit of knowledge of good and evil. Im only fourteen. Cmon people... Is it that hard to figure out?

I've always had the vague sense that this song is (like much of Oil & Gold) generally about conflict and its consequences. Where Hammerheads is from the point of view of the military, this is from the point of view of the civilian. The "a veil of cloud, correct as energy, we had some good machines, but they don't work no more," makes me think that this might be set in a post-nuclear world where conflict has lead to total destruction (also explaining the blindness, which could be literal).
