Sonic Adventure 2 Hacks: Ep. 1 [Lost Test Level]

This is the first in a series of videos where I will take you into the world of Action Replay and Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, for the Nintendo Gamecube.

In this episode, I fumble around with the hidden Test Stage. I notice that Sega's improved upon a few things while in there, such as the stairs. Apparently, SonicTeam went back and made the stairs in this game smaller, because going up the stairs in this test level is hell. (5:21-5:32) Also, there is a rail that is not automatically locked on using Sonic's Homing Attack, which is why I kept on missing the rail. (5:49) I don't know what's up with that.

There are lots of numbered squares, also. I figure they're measurements of yards, because Sonic is about 3 feet tall, and that kind of coordinates with the size of that "5" square on the tall pillar. (6:10) There's also another line of numbers that runs across the ground. (3:37-3:43) This is easily interpreted as Sonic's increase rate in speed, because once you finish the number line, Sonic is at top speed.

Also, there is a somersault testing area that they improved upon. (4:17-5:05) This, I just had a blast with in the video. Apparently, you can Spin Dash through the somersault area, which I don't think you can do in other levels; I'll have to go back and check. But, if you don't somersault through just perfectly straight, you can get stuck. Luckily, I had hover and turbo cheats on, so that I could actually get out.

Anyway, thanks for watching. If you sit through this whole thing, I'll be amazed, and probably horrified. But, you'll get a cookie.

why do test levels always have these blocks and random colors?

you certainly dont realize that hacking on youtube is most likely used for entertainment and or glitches that occur while hacking

@superhyperdarksonic5 to tell object from object and direction from direction. Obviously in gameplay you want most of these objects to fit in with the scenery. When debugging this is the opposite of what you want, when debugging you want to know what is happening where on what and why. Likewise take an object, make 1 side yellow, 1 green, 1 red, etc. etc. its a lot simpler to tell what your up against.

As for the blocks, to see if any specific height and or length causes an action to bug.

the song is way before its time this isnt sonic generations were you can put any music were ever you want and get away with it and that is probably a pc game you created and you just put the sonic adventure moddle in there . or sonic robo blast 2 or something

Just some advice: When doing a "Get 100 rings" level, DON'T HAVE THE 999 RINGS/INFINITE RINGS CHEAT ENABLED.

Ended up making my game crash when I tried it.
