The Stug was actually a very successful design during the war, no doubt helped by its low profile that let it be concealed easily.

Hi,
Thanks for your kind comments.
Well it is now in the Museum and working in all directions. Original radios and perescope are ready to be fitted. A lot of effort has been put in by the Team to get this far. They are now let loose on a Russian T26.
Please visit Cartagena Spain you will be made most welcome.
Allan Edgar.

one reason the Stg was so succesful was the steering which allowed the tracks to move in opposite directions,Michael Whittman famous tiger tank commander learned his tradse in the Stg and in the tiger he used the technique to rotate the whole tank faster than the turret.. Another reason the stg was succesful was that having to pivot the whole unit kept the more heavily armored frontmantlet facing the target. late in the war Panzer divisions always had more PZ.4's and Stg 3's than Panthers.

Out of the 10,200 Stugs made I wonder how many survived the war, and then how many have survived to today.

@vonPanzerschorsch Impressive numbers, but are you counting the stugs with 75 and 105mm howitzers or just the models with high velocity guns?

Absolutley beutiful. My favorite AFV,but i was supprised about how small they are when i got to see a Stug IIIB up close.

@ dpsh 1760
the averagne kill ratio of a stug was 3,67 enemy tanks
there have benn more that 8600 stug III sand approximatly 1600 stug IV s
so 10200 x 3,6 = ~ 36800 enemy tank kills
Uno no tiene motor, el otro ya rueda por el patio
