@1115WOLF Oh No! Not obscure! I live in Canada, I have heard every soprano and orchestra interpret it. I have never heard ANYONE do it poorly; it just will not allow a weak interpretation!!! I will "never again" live without it. Many people whom I am friends with know of this piece. Gorecki was a giant; it will grow. It cannot help but do.

This piece was pretty famous in the nineties. Many people never find access to contemporary classical music, despite the best efforts of channels like the UK's Classic FM. It enables the rest of us to feel smug and knowing. But, hey you are right, it would be good if everyone had access to music such as this. Ideally at performance level.

More people aught to know about music such as this... it's a real shame that such sublime work hasn't been spread thoroughly enough throughout the masses... I know it is an obscure piece, but just listen to 5:16 ... GOD!
