Me pole vaulting in High School. Set to music that i composed. Except for the Hey ya cover

music at

Most of the heights are in the 14 feet range. one of them at west point is 14'9" which was my high school best. This video is a good lesson on what can go wrong in the pole vault and also the dangers of not getting deep enough into the pit.

  • Who is the cover by?

  • I am playing guitar and my sisters firend is singing but it is a cover of the cover of hey ya done by Matt Weddle which is awesome

  • nice jumping, but...world record?

  • world record quinn, for people named quinn

  • ...oh....

    was this at a quinn championship then? is there a whole host of people called quinn who compete against each other?

  • unfortunately most of the other quinns of the world have given up since my world record is so far ahead of the competition. I am considering changing my name to michael or something to make it more sporting

  • deserved to represent Ire for Olympics, congrats dave donegan ;;;;;;;;

  • yeah ur strength and technique in the air is great just in ur take off is just being run into. its a jumping event so just jump up a little and u will be able to get on longer heavier poles with a nice effortless and high take off. great video ur great at this.

  • yea the guy below knows what he is talking about. its all about the bottom arm.. notice on your best jumps its strongly pushed out giving you more penetration into the pit. but other than that pretty good vaulting

  • Not bad jumping, Try to work on a free take off, you jam yourself badly in some jumps. Also, after you get a free take off, work on not blocking out your lower arm, this will prevent the stalling of your swing as you near vertical and hopefully help you not flag off the pole, and instead use it to catapult you.

  • Wow i love the song

  • Dude i tried pole vaulting once but im scared shitless of falling in the pin or landing on my head like the first time i tried it, I will just stick to long jump :D

  • nah, micheal would be way too hard... you know, try to make it at least possible, get a slighty less well known name... like... i dunno... bubka?

    >:D
