  • the best version of this song....next to "the king of country/western" Hank Williams SR.

  • @shrubhater Yes I love Hank Williams too. I wish I could yodel like him lol. Hank wrote Jambalaya. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I had to surgically remove a lot of the whistling by some jerk in the audience.

  • Thanks for posting, these are almost lost to the ages, thank god for the passionate fans.

  • foot tapping goodness great stuff

  • This is a great version of a great song. As an FYI, "Jambalaya" is a derivative of a Cajun folk song that was around long before Hank Williams. The melody goes back a ways and had several lyrical variations including "Pretty Texas Girls", "Back to Big Houston" and probably a couple I don't know about. So it goes with music in the oral folk tradition.

  • hank williams version is awesome but this guy brings a real creole louisiana feel and flavor to the music.

  • Listenin' to the music of Clifton Chenier, the king of the bayou...

  • Hank Williams and Clifton Chenier both do great versions of Jambalaya within their own genres!
