President Barack Obama signed his first bill into law Thursday. It ultimately will provide greater equal pay for workers by making it easier for them to sue employers for unfair pay practices. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, and First Lady Michelle Obama were there to mark the occasion. As VOA's Carolyn Presutti reports, the legislation was inspired by a 70-year-old Southern woman.
the gender gap is a myth. Men and women are different. Men are attracted to higher paying jobs. Then of course there's the innate advantages in productivity and thongs like maternity leave which takes away from a woman's salary.

I'm so glad, that finally someone recognizes how unfair the world is to women.

This is where you have to use the legislative process to get things through. And supporters of the bill did it correctly. The SC decision meant that their hands were tied. Congress and President Obama untied them.
