That's why I admire Derek Roddy, because not only does he play metal, but he plays jazz. The dude can really solo, and really play. He's not just a drummer he's a musician.

I agree, no single band can be the bench-mark of modern day metal. I love Lamb of God, but I stuill wouldn't go as far as to say "they're the best band ever!" I'm pretty sure there are other great bands out there. It's all about an open mind about music, and from what I've seen of Roddy, he has a very open minded approach to the drums.
