  • @gehniu non-kernel mode should be faster and more seamless.

  • The video doesn't do this justice. The difference is that it is possible (though not really show here) that the transition from the boot up graphical screen (that which hides all of the boot up messages) and going into X windows would be completely seamless. No 'click' or even a black screen (possibly).

    Without this, you'll notice a 'pop' when the X server takes over the display since there is a mode change vs. the framebuffer that was in place during the hidden boot up sequence.
