Cirklon triggering Emu World Board Talking Drum patch

Basic 16 step P3 pattern, randomly record some notes in from MIDI then add as follows:
Aux A: velocity accumulator, set one amount. Then on each pass the velocity of each note in the pattern increases by this amount. See also menu for behaviour of accumulator when the max is reached, the limits too.
Aux B: Randomly mask Aux C, different random amounts for each step
Aux C: Repeat note 3 times / velocity plus or minus on selected steps
Aux D: Randomly mask selected gates with individual random amounts per step

I think that's the gist... hopefully makes sense. Imagine if I'd spent time planning the notes, adding percussion on other tracks etc. etc.

  • Hi Krakou2, what I'm doing here is setting up a pattern with some aux events - this is a means of sequencing Cirklon's own parameters to make patterns that never play the same twice. It's not generally something you'd do as part of a performance (although I do sometimes).

It's a very live-oriented machine though and you can define track values for each instrument. These include MIDI CCs plus internal events to be accessed directly via six track encoders or va the two A/B buttons. Cheers :)

  • Cheers. Who's Raime?

  • It's a Proteus 2000, the World Board (talking drum)

  • that's a lot of menu diving, is there a live mode with direct access to cc parameters/filters?

  • And the Cirklon is really amazing!

    Raime are a duo.

  • this vid makes it such a desirable sequencer. maybe one day..! good stuff.

btw, this reminds me of the percussion on Raime tracks. haha

  • what drum module / synth / unit are you sequencing with the cirklon?
