The radiation and anomaly concentration in that tunnel are extreme... You'd expect to find a gauss rifle in there D:

bro, i think my game's glitched... i picked up that mp5 and now my radiation goes up and up and up no matter where i am! even when i go into the arena and they take all of my stuff, my radiation STILL increases D: i have to use a friggin' trainer to not die from it :(

ive been there before there is a way to getting around those anomalies, you would have to be just inches away fro them to pass also the radiation is spotted in only one very small area of the tunnel and all u need is 1 antirad

Barkeep might sell it later on. Or the eggheads at yantar. I think after you do the X18 mission they start selling gauss cores - although I'm not sure, I did that mission a long time ago.
