The Leaning Tower is not only known for its beautiful looks, but more so for its heavy tilt. It is one of the heaviest leaning towers in the world -- and for sure the most famous one. For more info on the Leaning Tower of Pisa, visit:

"..The Leaning Tower of Pisa was built as a part of Piazza dei Miracolli and is the piazza's third oldest structure, after the Cathedral and the Baptistry. More precisely, an inscription located to the right above the entrance to the tower, tells us that the construction started on august 9th, 1173."

  • The foundation of the tower itself was not bad, but the soil underneath the tower was. This caused the tower to lean, in its now famous way.

  • Fail tower.

  • It is now officially a relic...

  • I just saw a video of the bell ringing of the tower the bells dont move is it eletronocally to where the clappers move inside the bell,,it looks as if at one time the bells did move,,so is the tower now used kinda of like a CLOCK and the bells ring at certian times,,when was eletric put into it,are the bells the oringal bells of the tower,,what was the reason for eletric bells,,and wouldnt the heavy bells of the tower contribute to the leaning,, beacuse of the extra weight

  • do they ever ring them bells and it looks like there is eletricty in there where the bells might ring eletronically why would they do that the bells look HEAVY wouldnt that contribute to the towers leaning with those heavy bells,,,,if they do ring those bells is ther a video of it somewhere would be instresting to see I love learning about old structers,,I know in ww2 the tower was used by the germans as a look out tower,,and there was damage done to the tower during ww2
