Take the next step. From radical followers of Christ to radical communities of faith.
http://waterbrookmultnomah.com/catalog.php?isbn=9781601423726

In Radical, David Platt's plea for Christians to take back their faith from the American Dream resonated with readers everywhere, and the book quickly became a New York Times bestseller. Now in Radical Together, the author broadens his call, challenging us to unite around a gospel-centered vision.

How, he asks, might such a vision reshape our priorities as the body of Christ? How might well-intentioned Christians actually prevent God's people from accomplishing God's purpose? And, how can we best unleash the people of God in the church to carry out the purpose of God in the world?

Writing to everyone who desires to make an impact for God's glory—whether you are an involved member, a leader, or a pastor—Dr. Platt shares six foundational ideas that fuel radical obedience among Christians in the church. With compelling Bible teaching and inspiring stories from around the world, he will help you apply the revolutionary claims and commands of Christ to your community of faith in fresh, practical ways.

  • ive herad alot of people tell me that this is very arrogant and i think that culture has changed the chruch so mush it needs to be arragont

  • @RRknightvb2 Stalin, Mao, and Kim never committed genocide, dude. That's my point. They didn't kill for what people were. They realized the differences between people are not worthy of killing over. What was worthy of killing to them, still horrible, is people's politics. Religion is the ONLY reason people have killed races.

  • @RRknightvb2 "no one following the true teaching of Jesus would engage in genocide." Then the Catholics, the North American settlers, the Muslims, etc are all not true followers. Great. So why even defend the faith, if nobody has it? Might as well go after the faith, since it's ALL just posers, and nobody follows the teachings, right? Who do you think your imaginary friend treats harsher, those who pretend to believe, or those who don't?

  • @Enginmaster

As a Christian, I would say that religion has caused suffering in the world but no one following the true teaching of Jesus would engage in genocide. It was men who are sinful who carried out genocide. And also look at Stalin, Mao Zedong and Kim jong il. All three hate(d) God and did not follow any religion. YET they killed millions upon millions of people. SO clearly religion is not the reason people kill. It's that we are sinful in need of a Savior & that is Jesus

  • @EMT2832 What man made slavery? The slave traders followed the bible to the letter. They went to a foreign land to get their slaves. They didn't knock out eyes or teeth. (it would have decreased the market value of them anyway). The bible justified the unjust. Religion is behind all genocides. There's no evil it cannot make good people commit. People who worship that demon? Even if I believed in it? They're evil. Who lied in Genesis, btw? Snake or god?

  • @EMT2832 I understand good and evil better than you apparently. You think beating a kid to death is ok. I know what good is. It's an increase in quality or quantity of life. Bad aspects are those which decrease quality or quantity of life. As a humanist, I value human (or sentient life in general) higher than all others, and all humans equally. Your god? He doesn't. He's done EVERY evil thing in the book, according to the book. Your morals are shit if they're bible based.

  • @EMT2832 yes because man-made slavery like that of African Americans didn't care if they knocked out a tooth or an eye

  • @Enginmaster but then again you don't under stand good and evil because you don't know what 'good' 'evil' is. You have based your morals/good/bad off your own personal opinions. Your good/bad/moral may not be the same as someone else's. Just thought you should know this

  • I can't because God is Sovereign. :)

  • @Enginmaster and there are a lot of things responsible for children's death not attributed to the Bible. Haley's comet killings. Matter of fact as an EMT I see more unrelated Biblical children deaths than anything else.
