How to replace a power window regulator in an '02 Acura RSX type S. The door panel and faulty regulator were already removed prior to filming, so we begin at the re-installation step.
RSX's are notorious for having faulty power window regulators. The cable snapped on the driver side one day while I was rolling the window up, and the window fell slowly into the door.
I called the Acura dealership and was quoted $340 for the regulator assembly. I then went online to search for possible ways to repair this ridiculously expensive part. After fiddling with it for 2 nights in a row, with bicycle cables and such, I decided to give up on trying to repair the existing part.
Again I went online and found a guy parting out his type S that had been in a front end collision. I asked him how much for the part, and he said I'll sell you the whole door for $100. So basically the part is free to me after I resell the door minus the regulator. Hell, maybe I'll even make a profit. The labor however, is all on me.
what did you use to reseal the window to the clamps?
