A response to kenrg.

John Lennon was shot dead by Mark Chapman in New York City, on 8th December 1980. 29 years ago today.
These are my memories of that day & other associated thoughts.

Give peace a chance, please.

  • love watching your videos

  • @NickiPhoneToucher Thanks. Glad you enjoy them.

  • I don't get this, "The Day The Music Died" had nothing to do with John Lennon.

That phrase refers to when Buddy Holly died and Don Mcleans song The Day the music died .

Google the day the music died. You'll see that Don Mclean dedicated the song to Buddy.

  • Yes, i'm aware of that Paul.

But, i think for a lot of people, John Lennon's death was their own "day the music died". I guess it's a personal thing?

As it happens, i think the music is still very much alive :)

  • f only the present day politicians who also grew up listening to John's words of wisdom would put themt into practice. That would be his greatest tribute.

  • Right on. Couldn't agree more Tam :)

  • The Beatles were before my time, but I finally grew to like them when I watched the Beatles Anthology recently. I think John Lennon's death was one of the worst things that ever happened. I wish I could undo it. What makes it even worse is that he decided to reunite the Beatles just before he died. John Lennon was an INFP and I love INFPs!

  • I like the sound of that t.shirt.

I'm actually going to make a follow up video ot this, which might just be the one to tell your MJ story as a response to. I guess i'd better get around to recording it :)

  • I didn't make a John Lennon video this year b/c it definitely conjures up stories of Michael Jackson's death for me. As you know, I'm a big fan and have been since I was a young boy. That's been a video that I've been wanting to make, but have had a hard time approaching the subject. This may have inspired me to share my feelings about MJ.

Regarding the celebrity deaths, I recently saw a t-shirt that said "I was a fan of Michael Jackson before he died!"

Give peace a chance. Heal the world.

  • No, my X kept that along with my first movie camera. ;(

However, somehow I did manage to hang on to the original 1964 poster! ;D
