I've just started practicing KB Sport Style training. I made this clip after just a few sessions. I've been focusing on swings and cleans to the rack position. If anyone out there has some constructive criticism I'd be happy to hear from you. I'm far from an expert in these techniques.

  • wicked training room man. nice swinging too. is this a variation on the scott sonnon style?

  • @misterbaumann Girevoy Sport Style!

  • It's a different technique then probably what you are used to doing check this video out, it explains the difference between GS and HS KB techniques

(Look at the video from Machine Shop KB in my favorites on my page)

Yeah, I just set that room up to use for training. It's actually a small apartment detached from my main house I used to rent out.... tenant gone = mine now!

  • @dmc7707 Yep you are right! i was doing HS i didnt even know about GS but it looks great, thanks for the info :)

  • Great stuff. Ive just started on the kettlebells too man. Loving them so far. I see you adorn the vibram's too. I live in mine. :)

  • one more thing :)

instead of bending and extending your knees twice during one swing, squat down as your KB swings down and passes through your legs and explode up swinging your KB upwards. - so you basically have only one squat per swing.

btw i love all of your vids and admire your work, you are a great inspiration to me and my training =)

  • im not a KB expert either but i think your form is pretty good for the beginning.

maybe you could try to squat a bit deeper, without letting your knees come forward and keeping your weight on your heels.

you could also use a little more explosiveness in your movement: in your top position with the legs extended as you exhale just try to focus on explosively flexing especially your core and leg muscles.

  • so this is what your house looks like from the inside, you´ve got a great training environment, in and outside :)
