I think the reason why this works is because it's a man saying it. We women already know these things and aknowledge them, so when a guy sympathizes with these pains and is willing to tell the rest of the world about them in a way that knocks his own gender down a peg, it means something. And you know George doesn't talk out his ass (very often, anyway), so you know that he's sinscere, and not just a pussywhipped tote bag of a man trying to appease his woman.

It is not about being a housewife or another member of the workforce. It is about having a fair option! If you decide to stay home and raise your children you are not better or worse than a woman who decides to go out and have a career! Both options are equally hard and challenging and have negative and positive outcomes. What's important here is that a woman and a man should both get paid equally and treated with the same amount of respect.Women are not better than men. They aren't worse either
