Where did u learn that? a movie? Book? Elder? I heard the same thing. The Shaman I learned from never called himself one either. It didn't help that such people were routinely hunted down and killed for being known as Shamans. Same with witches.

There are many old ways changing now out of necessity. For example, my shaman teacher, who called himself a Medicine Man (same thing), used to cure people by taking on their disease n purging it thru his body. I learned a new way instead..

As a Tsalagi Elder I would like to say that it makes no difference what color your skin is or what your beliefs is,it only matters as to how you treat people in this life, we are all the same,we all have the same desires and the same goals and that is to be good people and treat one another fairly and with respect, there is an old saying about war. War does not determine who is right. War merely determines who is left. We must learn to have respect for one another and for each other's beliefs.

If more humans speak from their Heart as your Spirit does David Lakota then the world would be a much better place to "be" in. What ones Spiritual Belief is should not be judged by another.
