  • James Burton just plays the same country licks all the time.

  • Yes I always thinking that we may right but except that one here he is playing bluesy here.

He was a legendary guitarist but he played very conservative and minimalist in Elvis recordings.

I wish Elvis play with more contemporary musicians in 70's...

  • If I'm having a bad day at work or whatever just watching or listening to Elvis lifts my spirits immeasurably. Many times I just sit there in awe. Really wish I could have seen him live it'd be one of my 3 wishes.

  • Damn this is Outstanding!

  • @vidonweb James Burton invented his own licks. He played with many people on many Albums including Ricky Nelson, Elvis, John Denver, and Merle Haggard. Many of the parts he recorded have become signture parts of the song. His greatest strenght was his rhytm and if you hear how well he played lead you might get some idea of what it means that he is a great rhytm player. Listen to Hell Mary Lou by Ricky or Working man blues by Merle Haggard. He is still alive and playing check out the video's

  • @cityofangels2009: WRONG! This song is from Lowell Fulsom! Also Wrong is that elvis ripped that off of him, he simply played a Fulsom Song, cause he loved it, whats wrong with that. Elvis never said it was his Song, so shut your cake hole.

  • @helo86: come on, elvis was great that new years eve 76/77, but compare this version to the one from new york 1972! This is too country, not elvis' fault, but burtons licks from the mid 70's on are not my kind of taste. I heard burton in 1999 and he was ALL country, no blues whatsoever. Listening even to "I cant stop loving you" from MSG, it had more blues in it that this version of "reconsider baby" here.

  • @ianwilson2007: In that case it was spontanious, in other situations he had indeed 2 mic stands.

  • @vidonweb: true, in the second half of the 70's elvis's rock and roll show turned into a country show. Burton nowadays only plays country licks, no more chickn picken souther style blues anymore, it is a shame. Listen to reconsider baby from elvis recorded in madison square garden 1972, there is not one bit of country in there, its straight old school blues.

  • James Burton is one of the best guitar players that I heard.

  • why's he got a human mic stand? Could they not afford 2?

  • @vidonweb And I love JB's Country guitar licks. Just give me Jerry Reed and James Burton all day long and everyday. I'm content with that sound.

  • To those traitors who say this song is not one of E's best, I say you people DON'T know good music. Elvis is the "Undisputed King of Rock." The man could sing "The Alphabet and still hit it out of the park!" TCB forever!

  • @cityofangels2009 Yes he did because he liked them a lot and did them incredible justice. Also, are you familiar with the term "covered?" This means an artist didn't "rip off" another artist, they "covered" them. Get your facts right.
