Demi: *pulls away* Joe?!
Joe: Uh...I'm sorry, I-
Demi: Don't tell me, tell HER. *points to Selena watching them, about 20 feet away*
Selena: *shocked, but kind of excited for some weird reason* *thinking: Should I be happy for them, or shocked, or sad, or scared?* *sighs*
Joe: You're right. *sits down next to Selena* Selena?
Selena: Uh, yeah? *looks up at him*
Joe: You're mad, aren't you?
Selena: *sighs* Uh...no.
Joe: What? You're not?
Selena: No...I'm not, and I'm not sure why.
Joe: *confused* Wait, what? Are you trying to tell me you don't like me this way anymore?
Selena: I don't know. Just give me time to think.
Joe: *sighs* Okay.
A few minutes later...
Demi: *sits down next to Selena* Sel-
Selena: Don't worry, I'm not mad at either one of you.
Demi: You're not?
Selena: Nope.
Demi: So...you and Joe are still together?
Selena: *sighs* Yup...
Demi: And you're fine that he kissed another girl while he's dating you?
Selena: Strangely, yes.
Demi: Are you sure you still have feelings for him as much as you used to?
Selena: *sighs and looks down and says quietly* I don't really...think so...
Demi: Selena, if you don't like him anymore then don't hide it! You have to tell him. I'm pretty sure he's feeling the same way. I can tell he likes another girl...
Selena: Yeah, it's you! *laughs*
Demi: What can I say? I am pretty cool.
Selena: Yeah...not so much. *gets up and walks over to Joe*
Joe: Uh, hey...
Selena: Hey, so, I thought about it and I really don't think-
Joe: We should be together anymore? I agree.
Selena: *sighs* So...we're friends?
Joe: Yeah, I guess. *hugs her*
A few weeks pass and Selena and Nick have been spending more and more time with eachother, same with Demi and Joe. Selena's 16th birthday is today.
Selena: *walks downstairs*
Nick: Hey Selena.
Selena: Nick? What are you doing here?
Nick: I just wanted to say happy birthday. I want to bring you somewhere.
Meanwhile...
Selena: *after she got ready, she comes back downstairs*
Nick: Now can I say happy birthday?
Selena: Yes. *laughs*
Nick: *hugs her* Happy birthday.
Selena: Thanks. So where are we going?
Nick: It's a surprise.
Selena: I hate surprises!
Nick: You'll like this...*mumbles* hopefully.
Meanwhile...
Nick: Shut your eyes.
Selena: *shuts her eyes and opens them a little*
Nick: NO PEEKING!
Selena: *laughs* Okay, okay!
Nick: Okay, open them.
Selena: *opens her eyes and she's on the beach that's decorated and there are a bunch of presents and a lot of her friends* You threw me a party?! I told you a week ago that I hated surprise parties.
Nick: I know.
Selena: Yay! I knew that would work. *hugs him*
Nick: *laughs*
After the party...
Everyone just left and Selena and Nick are the only ones there, besides Joe and Kevin cleaning up.
Selena: You didn't give me a present, meanie. *laughs*
They start walking down the beach.
Nick: Actually, I didn't give you a present...yet.
Selena: Oh, so you did get me something?
Nick: Yeah, I'll give it to you later.
Nick: *the sun is starting to set, he starts singing:
They come and go but they don't know

Selena: *looks at him* What was that?
Nick: Just a song I've been working on...*looks down*
Selena: About wh-
Nick: *grabs her arm, stops walking, and turns to face her, takes something out of his pocket and takes Selena's hand and puts it in her hand*
Selena: *looks at it and it's...*
