funny thing, I bet he is not recognised and is an unknown like many pioneers of electronics. Many times the company they worked for got the credit. I never heard of Leyden! But then, I was not much of a name dropper back then in school daze. I got lost in names and dates on tests. I hope this Q gets many comments.

Trivia Q...
who is credited with the discovery or inventiuon of the flux CAPACITOR or condensor as it was called long ago?
(And it wasn't "Doc Emit Brown"!) Caps are crucial in electronics - but WHO invented those static-electricity buggers? CHARGE! I don't recal learnin that in electricity class, Ohm's law yes, but caps no. So WHO done it?

This rig resembles the Normende that has a BFO that I am lusting after. I feel Europa rigs were tops when it comes to SWL. The only Brit rig I had was a Barlow Watley (or was that made in Brit Africa?)
Marconi, Bell, Tesla and Edison opened the gateway for radio over a hundred twenty years ago. You can trace Western Electric, Westinghouse, GE and RCA back to them.Edison the filamint, Tesla coils and AC, Bell audio, and Marconi the wireless transmitter. There were others, but not as famous.
I dunno, Leyden? Early caps I've seen were Leyden jars.
