@Strefanasha Not true. The Catechism of the Catholic Church specifically says in paragraph #86 "Yet this Magisterium is not superior to the Word of God, but is its servant."

I certainly disagree with your assessment that purgatory is not in the bible and of course with your interpretation of the bible, but I do appreciate the fact that you got *what* purgatory is right. I'm so tired of hearing non-Catholics try to teach me that its a "second chance". Strangely, it's quite a relief.

To answer your question, you should go with what the Church teaches. Jesus created the Church, the Church created the Bible. Your proof-texting distorts the meaning of the Sacred Scriptures. The Church interprets the Bible as a whole, guided by the Holy Spirit.

God Bless His CHurch, the ONE HOLY CATHOLIC APOSTOLIC CHURCH...

Why is it that only the Protestant churches spend an enormous amount of time trying to convince Catholics that they are wrong? Catholics are more inclined to tell you that you are welcome to attend Mass and to pray for you but you Protestants, only want to condemn and villify. It's that attitude that placed our Lord on the Cross. Open your mind and learn what the Catholic Church is really all about and why we believe what we believe. "The truth is the truth, no matter how many don't believe it".

In reference to the 1:35 minute mark: You should go by what the Church teaches that the Bible teaches, otherwise you will make a mess of it.

they wont listen. they regard their church higher than the Bible

Purgatory is referenced to in the bible. It's the protestant bibles that are missing 8 books from the bible. 8 books that had always been there up until the reformation. So, if you want to stick with the bible stick with the original and the original church that put it together the Catholic church. Because if your faith is in the bible your putting your faith in the Catholic Church who put it together. Dong go with a King James Version. I think the title tells why its a mans version not Gods.

You state a doctrine on the Trinity at the beginning of the video, then dissect every single person of it, I, as a Catholic, know what that is, because it was a dogmatic proclamation by the Catholic Church as there is evidence for and against in Scripture. I love the Word, because my Church compiled it and put it together, so I think yes, I do know what it says, and yes, purgatory is found within it.
Yes,I found Purgatory in the Bible. In the old Testament it speaks of Sho'el,the abode of the dead.Which Jesus refers to in 1 Peter 3:18-20 & I Peter 4:5-6.Where he goes to remove souls and take them to Heaven.
God bless the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church faithful to our Lord Jesus Christs teachings for 2000 years by the grace of God.

@mrlivingstons1 It's hard for me to imagine someone today understanding exactly what the New Testament means better than those who lived in the same culture and age as Jesus himself. Some of the Early Church Fathers were even taught by the Apostles. At some point, we all need to realize that Jesus already laid down a foundation for the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church, and that this foundation was Peter. Let us all follow Jesus more intimately by joining His Church. I'll pray for you, GB
