California Firefighters Brace for More WindsThe Associated PressThree firefighters were burned Wednesday as a second day of hot, dry winds kicked up new fires across Northern California.(June 11)NATS UP- 17:19:19 CRYING While sifting through the rubble, these California women were overcome by emotion. The five-bedroom home they shared with their extended family was destroyed by a wildfire. And the homeowners didn't have insurance.17:16:30SOT: WE SAVED TWO DOGS, TWO HORSES AND WE'RE MISSING TWO ANIMALS. TWO OTHERS DIED IN THE FIRE. AND EVERYTHING ELSE IS PRETTY MUCH GONE.HEIDI VAUGHAN For a second straight day, firefighters are battling a fast-moving blaze north of Sacramento. The fire has scorched 16-hundred acres and destroyed or damaged more than 50 homes. And nearly 300 more buildings are in danger.17:12:20SOT: MY HEART GOES OUT TO THESE PEOPLE. But hot, dry winds kicked up new fires in the area Wednesday while the fire was only 60-percent contained.
