First take on my new camera! (Sure I coulda tried for a take with no mistakes, but what fun would that be?)
Ol' Charley Patton tune that I messed with a bit cuz I'll never sound as good as Charley...
Simon & Patrick Cherry/Cedar Parlor tuned to vastapol @ C (One whole step down from Open D= C-G-C-E-G-C).
I'll put a cleaner take up someday...

  • Luv it. Like your finger picking. Your little girl is crying. Beautiful!!!

    Are you playing S&P Wooldland?

  • @lyrpat Much thanks! S n P Cedar.

  • Congratulations!

    Is that a special tuning?CGCEGC?

Has that guitar a wide neck 1, 3/4?

  • thanks. it's just regular open d tuning dropped down one whole step to suit my voice. i've actually dropped it down another half step now: BF#BD#F#B. i'm constantly amazed that i can tune this little guitar so low, but it still sounds great and stays in tune (unless i really wail on the strings). nut width is 1.72".

  • diggin'this, great little tune man...

  • Sweet tune!

  • I had a solid cedar top Art and Lutherie, but it had an even darker quality...almost muffled in the mid-range...I didn't keep it long. These Simon and Patricks seem to pull off an amazing balancing act with the tone color and depth, without being too shrill or muffled.

  • yep, bud...you 'got the blues in your blood...it shows through. ;) nice pickin'.

  • Man, I already told you this a couple years ago, you're fucking great man, you truly are! Greeting, Barefoot

  • @akindofasteroid yup. s n p is sorta like a step up from a n l, but there all godin. i've heard that some a n l's have solid tops, but most i've seen are laminates. i THINK all the s n p's are solid tops.

  • @disienna

no, it's a Simon & Patrick parlor, but I heard once that Art & Lutherie and S&P guitars were made in the same factories (being monitored by Godin, like Seagull guitars)

  • Dude. This is another outstanding performance. is that an Art and Lutherie spruce top parlor(Ami)? Sounds great tuned down like that.
