Meet Tariku, a poor Ethiopian boy who was born without an anus and lived with a ragged colostomy since birth 7 years ago. With no colostomy bags, Tariku couldn't attend school, was shunned by society because of the smell and was a burden to his family. Dr. Domingo Alvear from the World Surgical Foundation repaired his condition at Black Lion Hospital so Tariku could now lead a normal life. Contact www.worldsurgicalfoundation.org for more about this great humanitarian group.
Excellent story showing the great work the World Surgical Foundation does to help the medically underserved around the world.
