  • Ahhh, aguabas, when you've trained longer, you'll realize that in Hung Ga, you train the big movements (sit lower) so that when you apply the techniques, they are small (higher). It's not like what you see in the movies. Although this demo is not actual fighting, it's being demonstrated at about 60-70% speed, therefore, you don't have the time, nor do you need to, sit low in your stances to generate power.

  • hhmm Im training in hung gar and although im not experienced myself, I can say that your stances arent lowered enough therefore you cant use your full strength from the waist up. Even the salutation part was kinda wrong. nvm me :P

  • @Skillking22

Circular movements are apspects of kung fu in general. What stood out for me was the lack of power of the most powerful of the jewels of hung ga. Gender has less to do with it, that the poor stance training. Some practioners stay with the tiger power and flat line like that for the whole form. This practitioner was fluid and fast and mainted a crane like energy throughout the form. Would like to see what she looks like now.

  • The circular movements, along with the way they bow, looks more a a northern style. Long Fist (Changquan) perhaps?
