People, the truth is within yourselves. The spiritual path offered by these so called medicine men are full of suffering and doubt. Even the great Nick Black Elk quit being a medicine man, and converted to Catholicism. I am not saying that Catholocism is the true path, but evidently, Black Elk gave up in his belief of these ceremonies. Question everything you read, most of these books are one sided stories that are embellished by the authors. If you want happiness, you must search for it within.

I'm lakota born and raised in the rosebud indian Rez. Raised traditional. And am well familiar with the story in and out. If you payed attention to the story. The other didn't intend to harm her he was thinking with a dirty mind. And was invited by her to approach he was foolish to proceed with his intentions. The other took a more wise patient and humble approach. If you think like Dave Swallow and our old minded Elders you might learn something. You have to live it to understand.

@OJulienL yes.i agree the sweat is a powerful thing..I would like to see how that worked out for david. The sweat would be an interesting expierience. That's where the pure of heart are strongest.I always thought it was grandfather who makes choices like this.He would take the buffalo if necessary.
