So this guy associates everything with colors, but I don't. Not really ever, except with Adele: bad fuckin colors she makes in my head. I mostly get tastes and smells whenever I'm visually stimulated by something like a favorite movie or video game. But sometimes at their house I can smell the video game that a friend is playing without ever seeing or hearing their tv. Is this legit synesthesia? Or am I just tripping out all the time?

Why does he say he doesn't agree it's a gift? I'd love to have synesthesia, I'm fascinated by it.

I wouldn't like it if everything I here, smell or taste gets a visual aspect. I'd just want to enjoy every sense on it's own.

You can google "synesthesia test" & there are plenty, but the basic thing is

    1. Do your colors stay the same?

    2. Does it happen without you thinking about it?

If yes to both, you probably have synesthesia : ) If you still wanna take a test, though try the synesthesia battery

    Hope I helped : )

It took me a long time to figure it out : ) Mostly because I think most of my family has it, too, so even if any of us mentioned it none of us would think of it as unusual : ) In fact, I have this, like, vague kind of memory of discussing the color of some letter with my cousin when we were little : ) Weird, huh?

That was me as well! Like, my exact experience. I read an article about people who "hear" flickering lights and images, and realized that wasn't normal. Lol. I think it's cool. Thanks for fishing up my old comment. ;)

& there are probably even more forms we haven't discovered yet. Imagine trying to find out how many people have something, when the people who have it don't know there are people that don't do it (that was me a few months ago) : )

    Sounds like Grapheme-Touch Synesthesia : )

    Check out daysyn.com/types-of-syn

The 1st word is the "inducer" (the cause) & the 2nd is the "concurrent" (the result) (i.e. numbers(graphemes) causing a feeling of touch = Grapheme-Touch Synesthesia)

(Sorry if it sounds boring, I just wanted to be accurate)

    Hope I helped : )
