  • Truckerhiob: Hahn is using a teaching technique called "comparison and contrast." Note where he says Protestants and Catholics have a lot in common. His father in law is a Presbyterian minister and they get along great. I think you misunderstand Hahn.

  • @Mjoe1875, where and when I did misunderstand Hahn? I misunderstand you, for sure. I have no idea what are you talking about.

  • why is it when catholics teach they have to always bring up protestants? I like to listen to protestants teach, because I learn actually learn about Christ and his teachings....they don't waste their times on putting down others and actually perform the great commission.

  • @shanana000, always? I don't think so. Scott Hahn was a Presbyterian Minister. He looks at the Catholic Faith through his own background and education. That's why he often compares what Church teaches with teachings of various sects and other denominations and ecclesiastic communities. However there is many other teachings of Catholics never mentioning any protestants. An there is many protestant often targeting Catholic Church.

  • I do not agree with Professor Hahn that St. Paul was the most influential person in the history of Christianity next to Jesus; I submit both the Virgin Mary and St. Peter were more influential.

I have to admit that I am one who suspects there is an incipient Protestantism in the writings of St. Paul, which is why they need to be balanced by the Gospels and Acts as well.

  • @Enigmatik691 They are seeking the Truth and Scott Hahn is alive with the Holy Spirit!

  • @shanana000 Catholics do not put down protestants, or any other Christians for that matter. Protestants currently make up the largest group of converts coming home to the True home of Christ, the Catholic Church. Spreading the Truth is never about putting one another down, but helping each other. God Bless.

  • My experience is to hear a lot of Protestant groups saying why the Catholic Church is bad and wrong and the whore of Babylon and how we worship idols, and are involved with cannibalism, and follow traditions of men. These are the most common things I hear. If you watch EWTN, you rarely hear someone mentioning Protestantism unless it's on a show on the Journey Home.

  • @shanana000 Oh really why do I always find PROTESTANTS commenting and preaching in Catholic rooms?

  • @truckerhiob Oh, it is always for me...I'm speaking for what i've encountered. And you can't tell me what i've experienced...so yes, that is exactly what i've heard.
