Incredible clip. I love the Vic Fontaine song, Quark's compassion towards Nog, and the score during the actual battle. DS9 was an awesome show that has never got the recognition it deserves.

@ZemplinTemplar actually not true, they held the rock for a long time before sisko came, so you have to persume that they ran out of alot, but they have grenades, and rifle rifle types had zooms (star trek first contact) star trek insurrection had grenade launchers.

but the poor grunts are at least better then the red shirts

@ZemplinTemplar the jem hadar are genetically made, they can be replaced and the dominion or the founders dont care, so ya charge to overpower, and hand to hand most of the time they would win.

I've always wondered that rather than pulse firing a phaser/phaser rifle, if you could just hold it down and do a slicing motion and hit multiple enemies. Despite this being far in the future from today, I would think that 1 or 2 M249 SAW machine guns would've made short work of this attack.

@danr239 It's pretty sad and a bit annoying that Starfleet soldiers military units lack a proper variety of equipment. Sure, the crew of the Defiant helped out in this episode and they weren't equipped well, but neither were the supposedly professional soldiers. DS9 had that sniper rifle prototype in one of the episodes, but outside it, they didn't put it to any use.

@Romulan112 They've probably watched Enemy at the Gates too many times, heh. Or maybe it's intentional they use tactics like that. It reminds me of the insane banzai charges some more than desperate Japanese units used in the later stage of WWII (where the only tactic was pretty much "run, run, run and kill everything in your path in close combat").
